Hey!

Welcome to The Mighty Mamahood

The Mighty Mamahood is a supportive, inclusive community for parents and families in Brighton & Hove and beyond, created by Laurene and Alana.

As neurodivergent parents raising two boys, we understand both the joys and challenges that can come with parenting, and we’re passionate about creating spaces where families feel welcome, supported, and connected.

Through Mother Rucker— our sling library and babywearing support service — we help families find comfort, confidence, and closeness in carrying their little ones.

We’re passionate about helping families find the perfect, comfortable fit — because babywearing isn’t just about practicality, it’s about connection, confidence, and closeness. Whether you’re new to babywearing or looking to fine-tune your skills, we’re here to support and empower you every step of the way.

Alongside babywearing support, we also offer:

free parent meet-ups

baby spa sessions

sensory-led baby & toddler classes

family events and community sessions

With backgrounds in babywearing, antenatal education, infant feeding, primary education, early years development, baby massage, and SEND advocacy, we’re here to support families through every stage of early parenthood — with empathy, community, and zero judgement.

Meet the Mamas

Founder

Hi, I’m Alana — a qualified Primary School teacher with a love for inclusive, creative, and exploratory learning. My passion led me to focus on early childhood development where I became a certified baby massage practitioner, and I also lead baby sensory sessions to support little ones in their earliest stages of growth.

As a gay, neurodivergent mum of two boys — one of whom is non-speaking and autistic — I understand the joys and challenges of parenting, especially when navigating neurodiversity. My lived experience drives everything I do, and I’m committed to supporting families with empathy, insight, and care.
